Oh, The Masks We Wear

The world today says: “Fake it ’til you make it.”

I say: “You make it when you admit you can’t fake it.”

Because, the source of my strength, my relief, my success, is the Lord-The Great Plains Poet

[Psalms 28:8 ESV] 8 “The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed.”

Don’t put on an act or wear a mask. If you are struggling, tell the Lord you are. Confide in a trusted friend.

Also, if you are doing well, give the Lord all the credit. Truly, all good things come from Him anyway.

Be authentic. Demonstrate ostentatious love. Don’t be afraid to be honest about where you are at in your life. God knows it anyway. So why hide? When you start to be honest, you will be to be free of the strictures of labels and unrealistic expectations you put on yourself. You will also stop worrying about how others think about you and care a lot more about what God thinks about you.

You’ll find it a lot easier to look at yourself in the mirror; seeing your true reflection and not the mask you try to affix.

Have a wonderful and blessed day in Jesus,

The Great Plains Poet
